Yorkshire runners at Snowdon
The England team selected for the Snowdon international race has a strong Yorkshire element, with Ian Holmes and Ben Mounsey joining regular Woodentops racegoers Andi Jones and Danny Hope.
And for the ladies Yorkshire's Jo Buckley and Katie Walshaw join Pippa Maddams.
Congratulations to Ben & Katie running in their first England vests.
2011 Inter-Counties Championships, Saturday 28 May
The Broughton Heights Hills in Scotland provided an excellent runners type course for the 14th running of the Inter Counties
Fell Running Championships, maybe not a fell runners course, but good runners can perform anywhere. Surrey's James McMullan
proved that by running away from a high quality field with Middlesex athlete Chris Smith second, although he is a Hunters Bog Trotters athlete.
Adam Osborne who finished second last year had a cracking run to finish 6th, Tom Adams in his crisp new Yorkshire vest finished 10th,
Ben Mounsey 12th and Graham Pearce 15th running for Yorkshire for the fifth time, which led the team to silver medals.
Greater Manchester won again!!
In the ladies race Olivia Walwyn won the race again from Tracy Brindley, Yorkshire were led home by Jo Buckley in 6th,
Jo last ran in these championships in 1998 when she finished 3rd at Arrant Haw under her maiden name Smith.
Yorkshires other three ladies were in their first county vests for the fells, Katie Walshaw finished 8th, Helen Whitaker 15th and
Sally Morley 20th which added together rewarded them with bronze medals. Central Scotland won team gold with Lancashire the silver.
